    Trainees must hold a recognised trade qualification e.g. NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or Domestic Heating, which will include Water Regulations, OR be working towards one OR have evidence of a number of years’ experience in the plumbing or heating industry and hold a Water Regulations certificate.

    Course Overview

    This course takes place at our Suffolk Rural campus in Otley.

    For competent plumbing operatives and heating engineers who already have a knowledge of hot & cold water systems and central heating systems.

    The course aim is to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Vented and Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards. The course is for those installing unvented hot water systems to comply with building regulations. The course price includes training manual, exam and certification.

    You will need to bring: Two passport size photographs for the BPEC ID card and certification. We advise you to bring writing materials to take your own course notes on the day. You will be issued with a BPEC training manual on the day of the course.


    Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

    The very comprehensive course starts with intensive training in the four modules, followed by the completion of three assessments including one practical. Candidates must successfully pass all three assessments to gain the BPEC Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems certificate and competency card.

    Allows the individual/business to register with a competent person scheme allowing the self certifying of unvented hot water storage systems installations.
