eduroam – Wireless Service Information

Eduroam is the College’s free WiFi service. It is available across our Ipswich campus and allows students and staff across Suffolk New College, as well as other participating institutions to use their WiFi enabled devices.

Suffolk New College is a participating member of eduroam. This means staff and students of the College can logon to the eduroam system at all participating sites globally using their College network username and password.

Students Logging into eduroam

For Apple devices:

  • Choose the eduroam wireless network from the list of available networks.

  • When prompted for a username and password, please enter the following information:

Username: Your Suffolk New College email address (this is stu-your-student-number@suffolk.ac.uk)

Password: Your Suffolk New College network password (the same one you use to logon to the College computers with).

For Android devices, it is important that you download the ‘geteduroam’ application from the Google Play Store and follow the below instructions:

  • Once downloaded and installed, open the app and search for ‘Suffolk New College’
  • Choose Suffolk New College from the drop down menu and then input your college login details as listed above)
  • Accept and allow any further messages
  • You are now connected to the eduroam wireless network

eduroam is available on most popular devices, however it should be noted that not all devices are compatible with the service.

Staff Logging into eduroam

For Apple devices:
