Whether you’re aiming for TV, Film, Radio, or all three; Suffolk New College is here for you. Our media students have a wide range of media outlets to choose from in their field of study, from our fully equipped TV studio to the student radio station, The Switch Live. Our courses offer intensive professional production-based education and training, taught by a team of professionals with extensive experience in the industry. You will also develop academic research and writing skills, essential for progression to Higher Education and much of the workplace.

Our courses range from levels 1 to 3 and offer intensive production-based education and training, taught by a team of professionals with extensive experience in the industry.

All courses allow students to develop their academic research and writing skills, as well as provide all of the desired knowledge and expertise for those that hope to work in the industry.

Our aim is to ensure that students are able to complete their course feeling confident in their abilities and ready to take their next steps, be that higher education or entering the place of work.

Real Experience

In 2022 Learners from our Level 3 course were involved in planning, filming and producing a short series with Jimmy Doherty at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park in Suffolk.

The Switch Radio

The Switch is our student-run radio station which is broadcast internally in College and on the internet.

Housed within our professional radio studio, students get to use industry-standard equipment to plan, produce and broadcast their own shows.

Shows are both broadcasted live and are pre-recorded for out-of-hours times so hit play and take a listen!
