Whether you’re aiming for TV, film, radio, or all three, Suffolk New College is here for you. Our media students have access to a wide range of professional outlets, from our fully equipped TV studio to our student radio station, The Switch Live.

We offer courses from Level 1 through to Level 4, designed for both school leavers starting their journey and adults looking to upskill or change direction. You’ll benefit from intensive, production-based training delivered by a team of industry professionals, while also developing the academic research and writing skills essential for Higher Education and success in the workplace.

Our courses span Levels 1 to 4 and provide intensive, hands-on, production-based training, taught by experienced professionals from across the media industry. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on existing skills, our programmes are designed to support your progression.

Alongside practical experience, you’ll develop strong academic research and writing skills, ensuring you gain both the creative and technical knowledge needed to succeed in the industry.

Our aim is to help every student complete their course feeling confident, capable, and ready for their next step – whether that’s progressing to Higher Education or stepping directly into the workplace.

The Switch Radio

The Switch is our student-run radio station which is broadcast internally in College and on the internet.

Housed within our professional radio studio, students get to use industry-standard equipment to plan, produce and broadcast their own shows.

Shows are both broadcasted live and are pre-recorded for out-of-hours times so hit play and take a listen!

Real Experience

In 2022 Learners from our Level 3 course were involved in planning, filming and producing a short series with Jimmy Doherty at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park in Suffolk.
