You can share

Have you worked in an industry that needs the next generation to progress into? Have you got real world industry knowledge and expertise? Have you got a skill set you can pass on? Then you can share.

If you have real-world industry experience, you already have what it takes to teach in further education (FE). You don’t always need a prior teaching qualification or academic degree to get started. Course overview

The course begins by introducing you to the core principles and application of teaching approaches; looking at what to plan, how to plan and why to plan. Along the way we support you with study skills workshops and academic writing preparation just as you would with your own learners.

Building on this, you will study behaviour and assessment strategies to enable you to promote and support learner achievement whilst developing your own style and approach to teaching based on theoretical approaches.

The later half of the course moves towards debates in education evaluating factors that influence your subject specialisms with an aim to design and offer solutions. We encourage problem solvers and critical thinkers!

Whilst completing these modules, the tutors and your mentor will help you through your professional practice to nurture your reflective skills and teaching development through reviews, observations and workshops.

Our aim is for you to gain a qualification that will enable you to become a qualified teacher in the lifelong learning sector and to further your educational and career aspirations.
