Get Industry Ready

At Suffolk Rural, education is not confined to the classroom; we believe in immersive experiences that shape confident and capable professionals.

Our unique approach involves hands-on learning through placements, volunteering opportunities, and active involvement in our state-of-the-art college animal unit. These practical experiences allow our learners to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life situations, fostering a comprehensive understanding of animal management.

In collaboration with industry leaders, we’ve established strong links with esteemed partners like Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park. These connections provide our students with invaluable insights, networking opportunities, and a direct bridge to the vibrant world of animal care.

Facilities at Suffolk Rural

The Rural Campus boasts facilities and study programmes that support learners in their journey towards their careers.

Starting at a level 1 introductory level, learners have the opportunity to build their skills and knowledge up to standards that prepare them for employment or level 3 studies. Learners wishing to study at level 3 will gain an in-depth knowledge of topics such as animal health and husbandry, animal nutrition and feeding, and animal behaviour and communication.

During the second year of a level 3 programme, learners have the opportunity to select a pathway that includes the modules that support their career aspirations or journey to higher education.
