Become an Industry Trainer

At Suffolk New College we are building an exciting new suite of courses to meet local business need and are interested to hear from you if you would like to join our friendly Industry Trainer team!

Building on our strong reputation for agriculture and horticulture short certification courses, we are launching  leadership and management short courses in spring 2024 and following on with courses in construction health and safety certification and other key sector areas.   We are also a regional leader for Skills Bootcamps.

We are looking for Industry Trainers across a wide range of specialist areas – from land-based industries, to construction, plumbing and heating and Net Zero. Our offer is evolving at pace so if there is something else you could offer, we also want to hear from you.

Our Industry Trainer roles are designed to be flexible around your needs. No matter how many or how few hours you are looking for, we want to hear from you. We have permanent and flexible contract options to work around your needs.

While it would be great if you are already an experienced trainer, we also welcome people to join our team with the right knowledge who want to develop their training skills with bespoke support through our License to Industry Expert programme, provided free of charge.

Does this sound like this could be the opportunity for you? Please get in touch with Lucy Emms – lucyemms@suffolk.ac.uk or 01473 382464.

We offer new staff the opportunity to get involved with our ‘Licence To’ suite. The Licence to Suite at Suffolk New College has been designed to support staff members in every facet of their induction and professional development, tailoring its approach based on individual roles. This Licence initiative offers a holistic and adaptive framework, ensuring that each staff member receives targeted guidance and resources aligned with their specific responsibilities. For example, our Licence to Teach programme equips new teaching staff with the fundamental basics of our teaching practice here at SNC such as planning, assessment and checking for understanding and progress. The Licence to Industry Expert programme offers industry experts the opportunity to gain the skills of planning sessions, checking for understanding and managing the classroom. Each Licence has been designed to support, develop and enable our staff in giving an exceptional learner experience at Suffolk new College.
