Based in Suffolk Rural, we offer a selection of part-time and leisure learning courses for students wishing to enter the business of floristry, using practical-based lessons to cover a variety of arrangements and events. Whether you’re hoping to create your own business or become a workplace team member, these courses are perfect for anyone looking to start their career or build upon their skills.

Build your career in Floristry

We’re delighted to announce that one of our learners, Emily Robbins, was awarded LANTRA Floristry Learner of the Year for 2023. We’re incredibly proud of Emily’s achievement.

Our courses explore the fundamental elements and principles of design, as well as the sophisticated use of colour. Throughout the programme, you’ll engage in a wide variety of floristry skills, creating at least one design per week. In some courses, this frequency may increase to two or three designs, allowing you to steadily build confidence and speed over the year.

At Level 2, you’ll develop a solid technique, mastering the mechanics required for each style of design. From there, you may choose to progress to Level 3, where you’ll have the opportunity to truly put these techniques into practice by crafting unique and striking designs for specific scenarios.

We provide clear demonstrations to aid your learning of new techniques, supplemented by guest speakers, external visits, and participation in art activities, all designed to enhance your learning experience.

Help & Support

Moving from school to college can be something of a culture shock. But at Suffolk New College we’ve created a supportive, social environment where you can easily get access to the help and advice you need, make new friends and get the most out of your time with us.
