To achieve the Level 2 Award in Practical Horticulture Skills (7573-02), learners must achieve a minimum of 6 credits from the units listed below.

Units

  • Unit 201 Prepare ground or area for planting – 3 Credits
  • Unit 159 Laying hard surfaces for external landscaping – 3 Credits

The course will prepare you practically for the following industry tickets:

  • PA1 and PA6 Safe Use of Pesticides Training
  • 2 Day Mini Digger Training Course

This course will develop skills and knowledge to enable successful learners to legally spray their own land, or that of their employer, using Pedestrian Handheld Applicator Equipment (knapsack).

Brief

Candidates will learn the skills of preparing groundwork from a garden plan, preparing areas for planting and laying a range of hard surfaces.

The end project will produce a sustainable garden plan which is designed to attract wildlife and can be used to train school students.

Skills taught can be transferred into careers in Garden maintenance, landscaping and community gardens.

The Bootcamp will be full days on a Friday, 09.00 to 16.00, Ages 19+
