Our courses have been designed to give learners both valuable theory and practical knowledge to progress towards a career with the Uniformed Public Services. Taught by former members of the services, we deliver an immersive experience that covers all aspects of the services, including visits from guest speakers and themed activities both within and outside the college.

Variety of options available
Our uniformed public services courses focus on the development of transferable skills suitable for a range of employment opportunities.
Military, Fire services, Police, and many others will be covered over the courses duration; allowing students to gain valuable knowledge from experienced tutors and guest speakers while also experiencing events designed to reflect upon real-life situations within the aforementioned services.
Policing at Suffolk New College
For those that may instead wish to focus on a specific area of the services, a new level three Policing Diploma is now on offer to upcoming members of the college, which is designed for student’s that have a strong career interest in the Police Service. The course has links with both the local Constabulary and various Universities for those that wish to further their education within a Professional Policing degree.
These local industry links enable our learners to take part in a wide range of experiences, such as police ride alongs and riot control training sessions.

Our courses include a wide variety of trips and activities designed to replicate or build upon your knowledge and experience of the different services. These include community projects, regular activity-based excursions in various environments and exercises with the local emergency services. Each year has different activities, so there is always a chance take on a new challenge or gain new experiences. These include:

- Military-themed NCS activities at Bramley Lakes
