Staff and students from Suffolk New College united outside the front of their Ipswich campus to honour the fallen.
They did so by creating their annual service of remembrance which is always headed up by representatives from the public services department.
Coverage of the service can be found here.
The occasion sees students who are studying on these courses take a lead in the service by marching in formation.
Many of them hope to go on and have careers in the armed forces.
The ceremony was overseen by Martin Memory, a college lecturer and military veteran who served in The Falklands.
Martin said: “It (the service) means I reflect on the Falklands conflict. I was part of the Royal Navy at that time.”
Martin lost shipmates during the conflict and said: “remembrance is very personal to me.”
Jonathon Pease is a level 3 public service student. He said: “It (remembrance) reminds me of my family. Especially of my grandad who passed two years ago. He was in the air force in the 1950’s.”
Jonathon read a speech during the service and said: “I was proud to do so.”
Student Paige Cannell also gave a speech. The level 3 public service student said: “It is important young people are involved in remembrance. We are the future soldiers.”
