The Veterinary Nursing profession is both a rewarding and challenging job role.
It allows you to embark on a career where no two days are the same, and where you will make a real difference to the health and welfare of animals. If you have a genuine passion for animals, and an interest in medicine and science, this is the course for you.
The Level 3 Veterinary Nursing Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification, allowing you to work and learn on the job gaining crucial professional skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the Royal College Veterinary Surgeons, allowing you to work in Veterinary practices in the UK and across the world.
The course can be run as a Diploma or Apprenticeship and requires a work placement in a Training Practice to complete the qualification. This course requires dedication, commitment and the skill to reflect on how we can improve our professional standards.
The course is run over a 2.5-year period, where you will be taught via a mixture of theory and practical sessions at Suffolk Rural for the first two years of your programme. The course is run over one day a week and you would be expected to then work at your placement for the remaining hours of study.
Once all assignments and examinations have been completed you will then have approximately six months to learn the key practical skills for your formal practical assessments (OSCEs).
You will be working closely in Practice with your designated Clinical Coach who, alongside college tutors, will help you achieve your qualification.
The awarding body for this qualification is “Central Qualifications”
