This Biomedical Science course is a bespoke pathway of the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science that is likely to be of particular interest to those who wish to pursue a career in health science with the NHS.

Informed and endorsed by our partnership with East Suffolk and North Essex NHS (ESFNET), the course offers a carefully informed selection of units that enable learners to acquire the most relevant and up-to-date skills and knowledge on their journey to a rewarding career in the health sciences.

During the 2 year qualification, equivalent to 3 A-Levels, you will develop your Scientific Investigation skills and knowledge of laboratory techniques whilst exploring a variety of units delivered as practical and theory sessions including; Physiology of Human Body Systems, Biological Molecules and Metabolic Pathways, Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Diseases and Infections, Microbiology and Microbiological Techniques, Biomedical Science, and Medical Physics Applications.
