City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Floristry

Take your floristry skills to the next level with the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Floristry, a creative and highly practical course designed to refine your technical ability while developing confidence and individuality in your floral design work.

This hands on qualification will expand your existing skills by introducing advanced techniques that can be applied to both small and large scale floral arrangements. Throughout the course, you will explore a wide range of design styles, themes and sources of inspiration, creating personalised floral designs suitable for weddings, events and special occasions.

You’ll be encouraged to experiment, develop your own creative approach and build the confidence to design for a wide range of clients with flair and originality. The course will also support you in identifying and promoting your own personal design style, helping prepare you for professional work in the floristry and events industries.

Each week you will work with a wide variety of floral materials, including tropical and seasonal flowers, allowing you to practise your skills using professional quality materials.

Course Units

The course consists of three units:

  • Unit 301: Investigate the Creative Design Process
  • Unit 304: Plan, Assemble and Evaluate Diverse Floral Designs for Weddings
  • Unit 305: Plan, Assemble and Evaluate Diverse Floral Designs

The City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Floristry also carries UCAS points, which may support progression into further education.

Assessment Methods

Assessment takes place throughout the course and includes:

  • Practical design assessments
  • A creative design project
  • The production of three portfolios of work

Entry Requirements

Level 2 floristry qualification or have significant professional experience.

  • Students are required to bring their own sundries. A college apron is available on the website
  • Flower costs are £1000 and can be paid in full or in 10 monthly instalments of £100 via the college website
