    Level 2 Barbering qualification including English and/or maths at level 1.

    Course Overview

    This course is based at our Ipswich campus.

    This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the barbering industry.

    These are compulsory areas:

    • Cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques
    • Design and create facial hair shapes
    • Shaving services
    • Barbering consultation services

    Optional areas include:

    • Promote and sell products and services
    • Hair relaxing services
    • Design and create patterns in hair
    • Colour and lighten men’s hair
    • Creative hair design skills
    • Specialist hair and scalp treatments

    All students who have not achieved a grade 4 or grade C, or above in GCSE English or maths or both will need to study an English or/and maths qualification alongside their chosen main qualification.


    Course Highlights

    This course will extend your skills, teach you specialised techniques, and prepare you for senior supervisory roles. It could also provide a route into teaching barbering, provided you have enough salon experience. You will develop and enhance your creative barbering skills, learning to cut hair using a combination of barbering techniques; design and create facial hair shapes; complete shaving services; and contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities. This Level 3 technical diploma course is for students who have already achieved a Level 2 Qualification in Barbering.

    Next Steps

    Tuition Costs

    No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2020.
