    Five GCSEs at grade 4 including English Language and maths or a Level 2 at Merit; GCSE (or equivalent) in ICT is recommended.

    All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4, or above in either GCSE English or maths will need to study an English or maths qualification alongside their chosen main qualification.

    Have an interest in gaming, especially Esports and professional gaming. Apart from the players there are numerous roles that support the team, allowing the players to concentrate on the tournaments. This course is aimed at meeting the upcoming demand for skills in an Esports team and in industry in general. Want to progress into employment in the esports industry, or looking at entering higher education, then this course will provide you with the skills to do this. The qualification is endorsed by British Esports Association, meaning it is recognised by employers and will support entry into the industry in a range of roles. This qualification will allow you to gain knowledge, develop technical and transferable skills, and gain experience in a variety of different sectors of the esports industry.

    Study programme overview:

    The Extended Diploma consists of 5 mandatory units as follows:

    ● Introduction to esports.

    ● Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis

    ● Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in Esports Industry.

    ● Health and Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports players.

    ● Esports events.

    Along with 10 optional units, including

    ● Live-stream broadcasting

    ● Producing and Esports brand

    ● Shoutcasting

    ● Ethical and current Issues in esports

    ● Sports and Esports law and legislation

    and more.

    Learners will be assessed by a series of Internal assessments for Internally assessed units and Synoptic assessment. There are no externally assessed units for this qualification.

    Course Highlights

    The Esports course offers a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over multiple subject areas such as IT, sports, enterprise, marketing, business and the creative industries. The course has been developed with the Esports community ensuring that it is appropriate and consistent with current industry practices and to enable you to enter employment in the esports industry.

    The course will allow you to progress to employment across a range of roles within esports such as esports player, team coach, Social media influencer, Data analyst and many more. On completion of the course you can continue your study within this sector by progressing on to Higher Education.
