Course overview

This is a University Arts London (UAL) course

The study programme operates over three days a week with an expectation that some self-initiated work will develop during private study. The Level 1 Diploma in Art & Design course consists of 6 internally marked units and one externally marked, final unit that produces the final grade. All units require a portfolio of coursework, there are no exams. The qualification supports students to explore a range of specialist techniques and processes including drawing, ceramics, illustration, printmaking, fashion & textiles and typography. A focus on developing skills and knowledge as a practising artist with a future career in the creative industry is encouraged.

All students who have not achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.
