Course overview

This introductory course is an excellent initiation into the world of construction, designed specifically to give learners a general foundation in construction trade-based skills.

Sessions primarily take place in our Rural construction workshops, offering an insight and understanding on what working in the construction sector will be like. Learners will be taught by our highly skilled and qualified staff that have all worked within the construction sector with the emphasis on gaining practical skills being at the centre of delivery for this course. Staff will work with learners to support their practical skills and knowledge associated with construction and will also support the preparation needed with further study.

The qualification also promotes the development of wider employment skills, emphasising the importance of appropriate conduct, equipment, and dress within a work area, customer service, safe working practices, and the general improvement of English and Maths contextualised to the industry.
