This T Level has been developed in collaboration with building services engineering experts to meet the needs of industry and will prepare you for the workplace.
You will develop an in-depth understanding of how the construction industry works, the principles of design, and the role of technology and sustainability to enable you to follow a career in heating engineering gas and plumbing or progress to a higher level apprenticeship or degree. You will spend 80% of your time in college learning a broad range of key theories from across the building engineering services sector plus undertake a series of in-depth practical tasks in our purpose-built workshops.
This course also covers: mathematical techniques to solve construction problems, construction design principles and processes, the construction industry and its role in the economy, sustainability and the environmental impact of construction business, commerce and corporate social responsibility.
You will also learn about topics specific to building services engineering, including: building technology principles building services engineering systems maintenance principles tools, equipment and materials In addition to the core content, each learner must choose one of the following specialisms: gas engineering plumbing and heating engineering heating engineering and ventilation.
You will develop your skills in heating engineering, gas and plumbing on a 45-day industry placement with an employer to enhance understanding of the sector. The placement may be undertaken in block release, day release, or a combination of both.
