This qualification has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. This 11-unit Qualification will cover units in safeguarding, children and young people’s development, equality, diversity and inclusion in a learning environment, supporting positive behaviour, contributing to teamwork, and providing displays in the learning environment. Candidates will be required to complete a collection of written assessments to demonstrate their learning, as well as assessment visits being conducted within the setting for learners to achieve the qualification.
You must be working or volunteering in a primary, secondary or special school, or a college for at least 2 days a week.
We offer a wide range of Education and Early Years qualifications and training to support you in developing your skills and knowledge, and to provide an offer that sees the sector receiving the upskilling, training and development required to ensure that Suffolk and the surrounding areas can be a beacon for excellent care working with children. After successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, we recommend progressing onto one of our part-time childcare courses at Level 3 or above. Our progression courses can be found on our website.
