The study programme has been designed to develop the advanced skills required for technicians working in the motor vehicle maintenance and repair industry.
This programme combines the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for the maintenance and repair of light vehicles.
You will study both theoretical and practical aspects, including Engine and Component Faults, Chassis System Faults and Auxiliary Equipment Electrical Faults, Hybrid vehicles.
You must pass all practical and theory elements of the programme to achieve this nationally recognised qualification.
A profile of GCSEs at grade C (or their equivalent) & Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
Learn and demonstrate your practical skills in our modern, industry standard workshops, leading you onto work or higher education.
You will have the opportunity to visit local Motor Industry workshop facilities and take part in exhibitions and competitions, including the UK Skills trials and World Skills. The study programme will also develop personal, social and employability skills, which includes opportunities to work on community projects and to explore the various career pathways within the automotive industry.
100% of students who completed this programme have gone into either employment or progressed onto another programme of study in further education.
No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2016

I enjoyed the course and learnt a lot in the classroom sessions that was backed up in the workshop practical sessions. The course certainly helped me make my mind up that I wanted to become a motor vehicle technician and gain employment within the motor trade.
