Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and an offer of an interview with an employer upon completion.

We are currently offering Skills Bootcamps in Arboriculture and Construction.

About Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps are for adults:

  • Over the age of 19 as of the 31st August 2024 with the right to work in the UK, live in England or meet residency eligibility requirements.
  • Who live in Norfolk or Suffolk
  • Who are unemployed, self-employed or in part-time or full-time employment.

Skills Bootcamps are also available for employers wishing to upskill their staff for a small contribution of the course fees.

‘Skills Bootcamps – part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life’. 

The Level 2 Award in Practical Environmental and Conservation Skills aims to:

  • Provide learners with the opportunity to acquire the essential skills, knowledge and understanding required for employment in forestry and related industries, and enable them to progress to advanced study
  • Provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment for learners to develop their potential contribution to forestry and associated industries
  • Develop underpinning knowledge within the subject area, by promoting and encouraging the development of new techniques and learning activities

The practical elements of the course are taught offsite in realistic working environments. The main component of the course is a Level 2 Award in Practical Environmental and Conservation Skills.
