What you will learn
This 2 unit Qualification will cover and assess the early development of the brain, understand neurons, synaptogenesis and how the social brain develops. Learning can include topics on the limbic system and self-regulation and the factors that can affect its development. Candidates will also learn about the three types of stress and about adverse childhood experiences and how to distinguish between behaviourist and relational approaches to behaviour management. Candidates will be required to complete a collection of written assessments to demonstrate their learning and achieve the qualification.

This course may also be of interest to anyone looking to re-train and considering a career in Childcare, Early Years, Social Work, and other related fields.

Upon completing your Level 2 in Neuroscience in Early Years, you could consider continuing your professional development on a range of our other Childcare and Early Years courses. We offer a wide range of qualifications and training to support you in developing your skills and knowledge and to provide an offer that sees the sector receiving the upskilling, training and development required to ensure that Suffolk and surrounding areas can be a beacon for excellent care working with children. After successful completion of the Level 2 Award in an Introduction to Neuroscience in Early Years, we recommend progressing onto one of our part-time childcare courses at level 3, level 4 or level 5.
