Course overview

This is the right course for you if you own a digital SLR camera, wanting to know how to optimise the usage through manual and semi-automatic settings. Starting with a crash course in understanding basic photographic principles as well as core digital terminology,  we work hands-on with our cameras to learn and understand the most important menu and function settings.

Learners will be using their own cameras throughout the course and apply different settings all the time. The different outcomes will be evaluated and compared, using a simple to operate imaging software. The course will mainly be delivered in our dedicated photography classroom. However, when appropriate we venture out into the college building to complete some creative tasks. The learning experience is supported by free handouts, learning tools, and easy-to-do home-study exercises.  You need to bring: Must bring your own DSLR camera, ideally a spare battery and a clear memory card. Pen and paper to take notes. Refreshments are available from the vending machines on the campus which include both hot and cold drinks.

Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 3 working days before the start of the course. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point.
