This qualification will suit students aged 16+ and pursuing a career in working within the Health and Social Care or Childcare industry. It would suit learners who are making the transition from school to college and do not feel ready to complete Level 1 in Health and Social Care or Level 1 Childcare. Learners will be looking to develop skills and knowledge for working within general Health Care and Social Care roles and working with children in the community; such as Support Worker, Care Assistant and Social Care Practitioner roles, after school clubs and nursery assistance.
The course will consist of 5 units which will be a mix of Health and Social Care and Childcare.
Alongside this course you will be required to study Maths, English and Personal Development (PD) as part of your study programme.
How you will be assessed
You will use a range of assessment methods to complete your knowledge and understanding, for example: posters, presentations, leaflets, workbooks, trips, practical activity planning and facilitating, interviews, group work and reflection.

Professionalism, adaptability, listening and interpersonal skills, teamwork and communication skills development.

The qualification is designed with industry job roles and duties in mind. We have guest speakers and employer/partner collaboration to enrich the learner experience as part of your course programme.
Progression
This qualification will support progression onto Level 1 Health and Social Care or Childcare and work experience.
