Course overview

This qualification will suit students aged 16+ and pursuing a career in working within the Hospitality and Catering industry. It would suit learners who are making the transition from school to college and do not feel ready to complete Level 1 qualification or have been out of education for a period of time, and have no previous qualifications. Learners will be looking to develop skills and knowledge for working within Hospitality or Catering while also developing their soft skills. The units of this course are:

  • Customer Service in the hospitality industry
  • Food Hygiene and Safety
  • Introduction to the hospitality industry
  • Basic cooking
  • Basic food preparation
  • Using kitchen equipment
  • Working in a team
  • Planning a healthy diet
  • Working safely

Alongside this course, you will be required to study Maths, English and Personal Development (PD) as part of your study programme.
