2021 Vocational Results

You should have received an email that outlines details for how to access your vocational results.

For Level 3 qualifications, the results will be available from 09:00 on 10/08/2021.

For Level 2 qualifications, the results will be available from 09:00 on 12/08/2021.

We understand that the 20/21 academic year was another extremely difficult one for students and we do hope you receive a result you are happy with.

· City & Guilds results will be posted to you

· Gateway results will be posted to you

· CACHE & NCFE results will be posted to you

Accessing your BTEC results online

Please use the link below to access your results.

1. Log in here https://ebsontrackprospect.suffolk.ac.uk/ using the username that has been emailed to you.

If you cannot log in please click the "Forgot your password?" link to reset your password.

2. On the left-hand side of the screen click on ‘Exam Entries’. Your results will then appear on the screen.

Please be assured that we will also be sending out results via 1st Class post and once we receive the printed certificates from the Awarding Organisations, we will also post these to you directly.

Results Information

1) How was my grade decided?

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, formal assessments were adapted this year for many qualifications and replaced with teacher assessed grades (TAGS). The college based the grading decisions on a range of assessment evidence throughout the year. The work was internally assessed, standardised and quality assured before being sent to the awarding organisation (AO). The AOs then conducted their own quality assurance processes to ensure that the grades awarded are appropriate.

2) I didn’t get the grades I needed for the course I had applied for – what can I do?

If you have applied for a course at Suffolk New College – don’t panic! We understand that it has been a very difficult year for learners and we are committed to doing our best to support all students. There will be place for you at the college! Please call us on 01473 382262 to discuss your course application with a member of the team.

3) Can I appeal my grade?

The appeals process is broken down into 2 stages as below:

Stage 1: Centre review

If a learner feels that the college has:

• failed to follow its procedures properly or has been inconsistent in arriving at that result


• made an administrative error in relation to the result

then they can request a centre review. To do so, the centre review form (linked below) must be completed by the 3rd of September 2021 and emailed to academicappeals@suffolk.ac.uk

The centre will conduct an internal review to establish if it has followed its own TAG policy and if there have been any administration errors

IMPORTANT: any review could result in a change of grade either up OR DOWN. It is possible for a procedural failure or an administrative error to be identified but for this not to have had any impact on the grade awarded. In this case, the outcome of the review would be that the grade stays the same.

You will receive an email to acknowledge receipt of your review request within 2 working days. You will receive the result of the review via email within 5 working days of your request.

Stage 2: Appeals to the awarding organisation (AO)

In order to submit a stage 2 appeal, a learner MUST first submit a stage 1 review request (deadline 3rd September) and receive an outcome to this.

To request a stage 2 appeal, please complete the following form

and email the form to academicappeals@suffolk.ac.uk

Stage 2 Appeals must be submitted to the college by 17:00 on Tuesday 14th of September 2021 so that they can be sent to the AOs. AOs will NOT accept any appeals directly from students.

The AOs will aim to conduct a review of all appeal requests within 42 days of submissions. It is stressed that this date is a target that it may not always be possible to achieve.

AOs will communicate the outcome of any appeals with the college who will then communicate the outcomes to learners as soon as possible.
