The team in charge of apprenticeships at Suffolk New College have gone to the top of the class after receiving an award for excellence.
The group received this accolade from the national qualifications organisation called City & Guilds.
A representative from City & Guilds presented the College with a plaque that recognised their efforts for helping students consistently achieve high grades on apprenticeship pathways during the last 12 months.
During a handover ceremony, the business development manager for City & Guilds, Elizabeth Akinlaja, said: “I am delighted to let you know that as a result of the high quality and standard of your apprenticeship provision, we would like to present Suffolk New College with a personalised plaque.
“We have analysed our data and due to the high pass rate and number of distinctions at Suffolk New College, we are pleased to provide an ‘excellence in end of point assessments delivery award’ in recognition of your services.”
Sue Abbott is the director of apprenticeships and business development at Suffolk New College. Sue said: “City and Guilds have given us this award because in comparison to national figures, we have strong outcomes in terms of merits and distinctions achieved by our students on apprenticeship pathways.
“It’s been great to celebrate this news. We normally have around 800 apprentices that we support at any one time and I think this recognition is exciting, as it shows that all the effort that the team puts in to support our learners has paid off.
“I believe that by helping our apprentices to get these high grades, our learners are in a better place to progress when they leave us and their career paths continue.”
Sue added: “I’d like to thanks Elizabeth Akinlaja and Rachel Knight from City and Guilds for their ongoing support.”
