Course Summary:

An Assistant Farm Manager plays a key role in supporting the overall management of an agricultural or horticultural business, such as a farm. They assist in overseeing every stage of the production process, from the initial phase—selecting seeds for crops or breeding livestock—through to the production phase and ultimately to the sale or direct supply to consumers. They are responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of humans, plants, and animals, while also addressing environmental considerations. The primary focus of an Assistant Farm Manager is on the daily operations of the farm, working to achieve business objectives related to productivity, environmental sustainability, and industry standards, as well as meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). They will likely deal directly with agronomists, vets, nutritionist, machinery engineers and sales personnel.
