Is it for me?

If you are aged 18 or over and looking to retrain or upskill, a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) could be the perfect choice for you. HTQs are designed for those who are focused on gaining the knowledge and practical experience needed for a skilled job. If you are a more practical learner who thrives in hands-on environments, you’ll find these courses particularly beneficial. Additionally, if you are excited about studying an employer-led course and are interested in progressing to further study or training, an HTQ is well-suited to your goals.

Funding & Finance

Student Loans: From September 2023, HTQs are eligible for the higher education student finance offer. This means that full-time and part-time students can apply for both tuition fee and maintenance loans, provided the course is at least one year long

Advanced Learner Loans: Learners can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan, which covers tuition fees but not living costs. (Applicable for Childcare HTQ only).

Additional Funding: The government has invested significantly to support the growth of HTQs. This includes funds to help providers expand their offerings and ensure high-quality education.

Financial Support: The College has several financial support options including bursaries.
