In relation to what’s next, Maliki said: “I’m currently working for H.F.Bond & Co LTD – and then I’ll be going to the University of Essex to study mechatronics (later in the year).”

Reflecting on his memories of being a student at Suffolk New College, Maliki added: “My favourite memories are all positive of the college. My favourite moments have been going to Northern Ireland for a study trip and meeting Sir Keir.”

Alan Pease is the principal and CEO of Suffolk New College. Mr Pease said: “Maliki was one of thousands of students who successfully opened their T Level and vocational results yesterday. It was a brilliant day that saw an incredible 95% pass rate for all level three learners who studied with us. One student (Esther Pyett) achieved the top score in the country on her childcare course. I’m so proud of Esther, Maliki and all of our students.” In terms of Maliki getting a message from Sir Keir, Mr Pease added: “That was a really nice touch from Sir Keir. Maliki clearly made a positive impact on the leader of the country.”
