Jon Toné-Burton has recently been appointed as Work Based Learning Curriculum Coordinator working alongside Kate Rupp.
Jon joined Suffolk New College in October 2015 after relocating from London. He is an experienced Assessor and IQA in Business Administration, Customer Service and Retail. He has built positive working relationships with employers which include Goldman Sachs, NHS, Hackney Homes, Hackney Learning Trust, Lake House Construction and Tower Hamlets Community Housing to name but a few.
Jon has worked in further education for over 10 years in a variety of roles which also includes Employer Engagement Officer, Project Coordinator/Trainer, Office Manager and Executive Assistant; this is coupled with over 20 years industry experience in the Business Admin sector. During this time he has helped manage the delivery of various government initiatives including Apprenticeships, Train to Gain, E2E and various other projects for the unemployed in partnership with JobCentre Plus.
Highlights include two of his Apprentices winning Apprentice of the year over two consecutive years, with many of his Apprentices moving in to full time employment at the end of their programmes.
Jon is pleased to be joining the team and aims to continue embedding quality at the core of the delivery of Work Based Learning provision.
Jon is seen with Kate Rupp, Work Based Learning Manager who now manages all Apprenticeships across the college.
Kate Joined Suffolk New College in 2008 as a lecturer in Hairdressing, in 2012 was promoted to Programme Leader; she also was interim Programme Leader in Catering and Hospitality 2016. She was appointed as Work Based Learning Manager in 2016.
Kate achieved an Apprenticeship in Hairdressing after leaving school. She worked for over 20 years in the Hairdressing industry working with a range of employers in Ipswich, London and Australia.
