College grateful for safety vest donation

Students are more aware than ever of the importance of safety and protecting the lives of law enforcement and military operatives thanks to a generous donation.

Suffolk New College has received a bullet proof vest, identical to those provided to police forces in the UK, thanks to manufacturer SafeGuard, which donated the item for use in the Uniformed Public Service course.

SafeGuard is partnering with a range of colleges to help boost the learning experience of students enrolled in Public Service courses.

The donation means lecturers can use the vest in their in-class demonstrations.

SafeGuard Clothing Communications Manager Thomas Bowman said: “We are pleased to partner with Suffolk New College and work towards making their Public Service course more focused on the actual experience of law enforcement personnel.”

Partnerships such as this mean colleges can better prepare their students for their chosen line of work.

SafeGuard, an international manufacturer and distributor of body armour, is one of Suffolk New College’s business partners with whom we work closely to develop our courses and shape the curriculum.
