An Ipswich man is running 13 half marathons in 13 days for Suffolk Mind.
Dave Robinson, 54, from Kesgrave is no stranger to long-distance running, having competed in 58 marathons previously, raising around £100,000 for various benevolent causes.

For this latest challenge, the Suffolk New College sports lecturer will be starting on Wednesday 16 September 2026, where he will be joined by five others from Rushmere Community Runners.
They have all been inspired by Jordan Adams, who ran the London Marathon this year with a fridge on his back to raise money for dementia research.
He did so after he and his brother discovered that they both carry the frontotemporal dementia (FTD) gene that took the life of their mother in her 40’s.

The fridge is a symbolic gesture to highlight the invisible weight of mental health struggles for those living with dementia.
The penultimate marathon for Dave and the group will be the Ipswich half marathon on 27 September, and they aim to raise around £1000.00.
He will then have one last victory lap on 28 September in Ipswich.
On choosing the charity, he said: “We chose Suffolk Mind this time as it means so much to so many people.”
And on support from the college, he added: “I started at the college recently, and the staff have been amazing. Hopefully students will see what I’m doing and be inspired to do something similar in the future.”
