The purpose of this qualification is to develop the transferable skills, attributes, and behaviours needed for you to progress to further study and ultimately to employment.

You will study a variety of units which will include all of the following subject areas; agriculture, horticulture (garden management) and arboriculture (woodland care) - (please add this at the top of this subheading).

The course is designed to be delivered in an applied way, with an emphasis on demonstrating what you can do. You will be required to complete a series of written portfolios to accompany each of the units you study. The qualification brings together appropriate content with practical, technical and theoretical skills.

All students who have not achieved a grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.

Whilst undertaking Arboriculture learning it is important that learners understand the inherent physically demanding nature of the course. It is therefore important that students inform the college of any relevant long or short term medical condition to allow appropriate risk assessment to ensure your safety during learning. This can be disclosed either on enrolment or raised to your teaching team. All information disclosed in this regard will be treated confidentially.
