Horticulture

Studying our horticulture courses can lead to the development of many incredible careers in the industry, from gardening and landscape design to conservation work and environmental health professionals.

For us at Suffolk rural, the most vital element of our courses is ensuring that we cover the many diverse industries that make up the world of horticulture. We offer a range of full-time and part-time courses at levels 2 and 3, and each aims to provide our students with all the necessary knowledge and skills surrounding the science, art, technology, and business of growing plants.

Hands-on projects

You will have the opportunity to acquire practical experience at the college’s horticulture unit and gain valuable industry experience with a range of guest speakers and educational visits. In addition, you will have the opportunity to be involved in horticulture projects at the campus and local shows such as the Suffolk Show.
The lecturers will share their many years of horticulture experience with you and are still actively involved within the industry.
Our facilities at Suffolk rural are equipped with all the necessary tools and workstations/areas to provide students with a fully immersive horticultural experience, including multiple garden stations replicating different landscapes and our large glasshouse.
