This course is part of the Ipswich Town Foundation Education Programme

The stimulating and employer-appealing Level 3 Sports Coaching course explores several areas, which enable you to gain a wider insight into areas such as Sports Analysis, Fitness Testing, Anatomy and Physiology, Coaching, and more. This course is ideal for those looking to gain employment in the Sports Industry in fields such as Coaching, Sports Development, PE Teaching, Fitness Instructing, and Personal Training, and for progression to University.

You will study topics including Sports Leadership, Sports Coaching, Analysis of Performance, Anatomy and Physiology, fitness training, fitness testing, Sports Development and Sports Business. The study programme is assessed using a variety of vocationally relevant methods which reflect the industry, including presentations, observations, written reports, and discussions.

You will be in College for at least three days a week. Students are also required to take part in relevant work experience in a sport setting, for example within our exclusive link with Ipswich Town FC, and may also have the opportunity to take part in Sport in the Community.

Students may also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in Fitness Instructing, Coaching, and Sports Leaders.

The study programme offers an extensive study of all sporting areas, including Coaching, Nutrition, Leadership, Fitness Testing and Training, and Anatomy and Physiology. You will have the opportunity to learn in the classroom and through practical sessions utilising the College’s fantastic facilities, and pursue work experience opportunities with our wide range of top employers such as Ipswich Town FC, and many more. Educational trips are arranged each year to widen the student experience through attendance at sports conventions and alternative sporting venues.
