This course is part of the Ipswich Town Foundation Education Programme

Equivalent to 3 A-levels, the BTEC Level 3 in Sport and Exercise Sciences is ideal for those looking to pursue higher education in Sport, Fitness, and Health-related subjects at University.

Our highly qualified and industry-trained staff contribute to delivering an inspiring course which explores the ever-growing industry of Sports Science, working towards exciting and rewarding careers in occupations such as Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Performance Analysis, Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Psychology, and many more.

You will experience exciting and stimulating units including:

  • Sports Massage
  • Field and Lab testing
  • Research in Sports Science
  • Coaching
  • Sports Injuries
  • Assessment

(As well as Physiology, Anatomy, Psychology, and Nutrition).

The study programme is assessed using a variety of vocationally relevant methods which reflect the industry, including presentations, observations, written reports, and discussions.

You will be in College for at least three days a week. Students are also required to take part in relevant work experience in a sport setting, for example within our exclusive link with Ipswich Town FC, and may also have the opportunity to take part in Sport in the Community.

Students may also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications in Fitness Instructing, Coaching, and Sports Leaders.
