This course aims to help learners and Health & Social Care professionals to develop their skills and knowledge around safeguarding adults. Learners will learn the signs and symptoms of different types of abuse and the action to take if they suspect someone is being abused. They will also learn where to get support and the responsibilities of organisations in safeguarding and protecting service users.
This is a 2 day course, 09:30 AM -2:30 PM, face-to-face with online assessment to be completed remotely.
Completion of this course comes with an accredited qualification and certificate recognised in industry.
Course content/units
Assessment will include components of practical in our state-of-the-art Health Science campus, as well as an online suite of assessments to which you will have access.
- Know the responsibilities of health and social care organisations and practitioners in relation to protection and safeguarding.
- Know about good practices in keeping health and social care service users safe or at reduced risk of harm.
- Know about different forms of abuse
- Know how to respond to disclosure or suspicion of abuse.
- Describe different forms of abuse
- Describe common signs or symptoms associated with the different forms of abuse.
- Outline procedures for reporting disclosure or suspicion of abuse.
- Describe how to respond to an individual disclosing abuse.
- Identify different sources of information and support in relation to abuse.
