Course overview

This Lantra-accredited course is suitable for a wide range of people, whether you are employed as a local authority highway inspector, or work in the forestry, woodland, or arboricultural field.

This course will enable you to identify hazardous trees, determine the level of risk, and decide on an appropriate course of action.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to: state the legal and safety implications of hazardous trees, maintain your health and safety while carrying out a basic tree survey and inspection, recognise hazardous trees, determine the level of risk, decide on an appropriate course of action, collect and maintain adequate information.

You will need to bring: Please bring an inspection kit if you have one. You may wish to bring writing materials to take your course notes on the day. Please wear comfortable clothing, and bring along sturdy footwear for rough, wet ground, and a Hi-Vis vest.

Assessment: Course packs issued by LANTRA will be worked through throughout the course. Upon successful completion of the assessment, candidates will be awarded a certificate issued directly from LANTRA. If you have not already done so, please inform us of any disabilities you have that may require you to have access arrangements put in place for you to take your assessment.

Enrolment End Date: Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 3 working days before the start of the course. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point.

Course timings: 09:00 – 16:30

Course cost: £220

You will be provided with refreshment vouchers (meal and drinks) which may be used in one of the College refectories. Alternatively, you may bring your lunch if preferred.
