Throughout the programme, students will be working towards their personal EHCP outcomes whilst accessing a workplace internship to gain skills and experience to support them in the world of employment.
Learners will attend their workplace for 2 days per week, completing the workplace induction and learning the tasks and duties required of them. Learners will be able to gain a good understanding of the workplace environment and be given support and opportunities to develop their workplace skills.
The learners will receive Job Coach support tailored to their needs throughout the Internship and will also attend college 1 day per week for recording and reflection to work through any hurdles arising from their placement. Along with other aspects including: communication and teamwork, personal conduct, workplace expectations, working safely, timekeeping and self-management, job finding, interview skills and enrichment.
Our focus is for our learners to progress into the world of employment and we offer every opportunity in order to support them to do so.
Learners will be required to get themselves to their workplace independently and as such we will work with local, accessible employers and offer travel training if required.
Learners will attend their work placement for up to 4 days a week.
The main campus for this course is our Rural campus.
