The City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Agriculture (1080) offers learners the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the agricultural industry whilst gaining the required practical skills. At the end of the course, you will leave with the required practical, technical and business skills that are needed for a successful career in Agiculture.
Learning primarily takes place at our Rural Campus, and learners work closely on the Suffolk Rural Farm to ensure that learners are prepared for working in industry. We also work closely with local employers to ensure that learners experience a diverse range of farms.
Course structure
- This qualification is a 2 year programme.
- Year 1 is a combined year where all learners experience both Arable and Livestock farming.
- Year 2 will allow learners to specialise, choosing either Arable or Livestock as a pathway.
This is a full time course that requires on-site attendance 3 days per week, 1 day of work experience and 1 day for self directed study.

To achieve the course, learners must also complete a minimum of 150 work experience hours with an external employer.
