    Course Overview

    Tech Campus

    This course is based at our Ipswich campus.

    The study programme is made up of the following units:
    The Online World, Technology Systems, Digital Portfolio, Creating Digital Graphics, Database Development, Website Development, Multimedia Products Development, and Computer Networks.

    You will be able to achieve either a ‘pass, merit, or distinction’ grade in each of the units you will study. You will be assessed using a variety of methods, such as individual, paired, and group work, where you will be required to submit assignments, conduct presentations, and complete workbooks. Functional Skills assessments are assessed via examination.

    You will be expected to spend approximately 21 hours each week studying in College, which is currently spread over 3 days.

    All students who have not achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.

    Course Highlights

    This study programme will provide you with specialist work-related qualifications in a range of areas, which will give you the knowledge, understanding, and skills you will need to prepare for employment.

    The course will inspire and enthuse learners to become technology savvy – more able to be producers of technology products and systems, rather than just be consumers of them.

    You will learn using modern software packages, which include Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, elements of the Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Camtasia.

    Next Steps

    Upon successful completion of this course you could choose to go into part or full time employment within either the public or private sector. The course prepares students for entry into careers such as IT Support, and related administration such as data entry. If you wish to remain in education you could progress onto a level 3 course.
