A construction company is looking to build a link with Suffolk New College after donating £2000 worth of new equipment.

The union was created between JMS Contractors Ltd and On The Coast in Halesworth.
Representatives from the Norwich-based company have been building properties next door to the college and reached out to the educational establishment to see if they could support them.
After discussions, JMS has handed over bricks, blocks, insulation sides and timber for students to use in lessons in a deal worth two grand.

Ethan Sheridan from JMS contractors is a groundworks supervisor who attended the handover. He said: “It’s nice to see young people come through the ranks (at college). Our industry needs new talent. The college is doing a great job, and students (who go to Suffolk New College On The Coast in Halesworth) are the future. It was our pleasure to support them.”
Christopher Baird is a multi-skills tutor for Suffolk New College On The Coast in Halesworth. He said, “It’s good for the students to work with local businesses. They get to see the real-life side of construction, and all of the equipment will be used in lessons.
“On behalf of the college, I’d like to say thanks very much to JMS contractors, and if anyone reads this and wants to work with us, then we would be delighted to hear from them.”
