Earlier this year, Jane Woolley a head of curriculum at SNC submitted an application to be considered for a Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCC) accolade.

This inaugural event – that will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the VTCT – will take place on Thursday 13 July 2023 in Milton Keynes.

Having nominated the college, Jane was ‘flabbergasted, shocked and proud’ to find out that SNC is one of five educational establishments to be shortlisted for the finals.

The group are now getting ready to travel to Buckinghamshire where they will go up against four other colleges based in the UK to see who will be crowned ‘college of the year’.

On hearing the news, Jane said: “We are the only college from this region to make the finals.” (Others involved are Cardiff and Vale, Milton Keynes, Rotherham and Truro and Penrith). Jane continued: “This is a very prestigious event and if we were to win, it would be amazing to be able to legitimately say that we are the best in the country.”
