Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner Level 4 – LAUNCHING SOON FOR 2026

Overview

Course Summary:

The Level 4 Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) Practitioner Apprenticeship develops professionals who act as an organisation’s social conscience supporting responsible business practices and driving positive environmental and social impact. The role will help deliver sustainability strategies, manage CR&S projects, analyse data for reporting, and engage internal and external stakeholders to embed a culture of responsibility.

They may also engage with the wider community to work collaboratively and, where appropriate, to gain insight into the perspectives of external organisations such as charities, social enterprises, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and local or central government. In addition, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioners often act as ambassadors for their organisations, promoting their CR&S strategy and broadening their network of influence to help drive positive impact.

Approx. duration: 36 months

Start Date: TBC

Attendance: Once a month at one of our Campuses

Entry requirements:

  • Individual employers will set their selection criteria for applicants
  • Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week and have a contract of employment
  • Entry onto the Apprenticeship is subject to a thorough skills scan assessment to clarify course suitability
  • Entry onto the Apprenticeship is subject to 4 GCSEs including Maths and English 9-4/A-C or Functional Skills Level 2
  • Following the updated DFE Apprenticeship rules, from 11th February 2025. Apprentices who begin their apprenticeship training when aged 19+ will no longer be subject to this mandatory requirement. It is now the decision of the apprentice and their employer at the start of their apprenticeship to choose to study towards a Maths and English qualification

  • English and Maths (if required) Level 2

Progression:

On successful completion of the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner apprenticeship, individuals may progress to further higher education, including degree-level study. They may also choose to specialise in areas such as carbon reduction and Net Zero, waste management and the circular economy, or supply chain sustainability and human rights. Additional career pathways include roles such as Compliance and Risk Officer, Sustainability Manager, or ESG Analyst.
