Suffolk New College united to raise money for Children in Need.
At Suffolk Rural, inclusive learners collectively walked 250 miles as a department.
Activities were organised by Sarah Brunning, an inclusive learning course tutor who has been supporting this benevolent cause for 17 years.
Sarah also took part in the sponsored ‘walkies’ with her dog Maisie. She said: “This charity means a great deal to me. If children can have a good start in life, it has a positive impact on the future for everyone.”
Mia Blowes, 17, from Woodbridge is studying on an introduction to college life course. She took part in the sponsored walk. Mia said: “Helping people is the best part of life – it makes you feel good.”
Over at Suffolk New College On The Coast in Halesworth, beauty students went to the Co-op in Halesworth to offer beauty treatments in return for donations and also organised a luxury raffle. And motor vehicle learners are carrying out 25 winter checks for cash on staff cars throughout November, in line with the 2025 Children in Need ‘challenge yourself to 25’ theme.
At the Ipswich campus, Suffolk New College childcare learners got dressed up in pyjamas and the marketing department took donations from staff across the college. Craig Shimmon, head of marketing at Suffolk New College said: “It’s always important we do our bit for this incredible charity.”
