ePass

At Suffolk New College, we believe every learner should have the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in education, employment and life.

ePASS is Suffolk New College’s Employability Passport, designed to help learners develop the essential skills, behaviours and confidence needed for future education, training and employment.

Through a structured programme of tutorials, enrichment opportunities, employer engagement and personal development activities, learners develop the attributes valued by employers, universities and wider society. Alongside building employability skills, learners gain practical experience in creating CVs, writing cover letters, preparing for interviews and exploring career opportunities, helping them prepare for their next steps with confidence.

Whether a learner is progressing with us, moving on to university, securing an apprenticeship or entering employment, ePASS helps them develop the skills, confidence and mindset needed to achieve their goals.

Building Skills That Matter

ePASS supports learners to develop across six key employability areas that are essential for success in education, employment and life:

  • Stand out from the crowd
  • Teamwork and Communication
  • Positive Work Ethic
  • Digital Capability
  • Leadership
  • Effective Self-Management

Alongside developing these skills, learners gain practical tools and experiences that help prepare them for their future careers. This includes creating CVs, writing cover letters, preparing for interviews, conducting job searches and understanding what employers look for when recruiting new talent.

Developing Skills for the Future

Employers consistently tell us that personal qualities and employability skills are just as important as technical knowledge.

Each half-term, learners focus on a different strand of the programme, allowing them to gradually build a broad range of skills and experiences that support both personal and professional success.

ePASS is embedded throughout every learner’s programme of study, ensuring employability skills are developed alongside vocational learning. Learners regularly reflect on their progress, build evidence of their achievements and develop the confidence, behaviours and skills needed for their future. Designed to reflect the diverse college community, ePASS supports learners from all backgrounds and starting points, providing meaningful opportunities for everyone to participate, progress and succeed. As a recognised Resilience Organisation, Suffolk New College is committed to helping learners build resilience, realise their potential and achieve their goals.

Recognising Achievement

As learners progress through ePASS, they reflect on their development, record their achievements and build evidence of the skills they have gained.

Learners can work towards achieving Bronze, Silver and Gold ePASS Awards, recognising their commitment to personal development, employability and future readiness. These awards celebrate the skills, experiences and achievements learners develop throughout their time at Suffolk New College and provide valuable evidence for university applications, apprenticeships, employment, and future opportunities.

More than a certificate, ePASS represents a commitment to growth, ambition and readiness for the future.
