A day in the life of a Spa Therapist

News overview

A massive thank you to Bannatyne Health Spa and Aqua Sana (Center Parcs) who recently welcomed our 16-19 learners for an experience day.

The Aqua Sana Skin & Sensations Experience

Indulging in the premium spa experience these level 2 students were treated to an arrival drink before changing in to their own soft and plushy robes for a guided meditation session in the Water Meditation room.

Feeling most calm and relaxed they then attended a discovery session where they learnt about skin types and skin preparation all related to the Elemis product range.

After the discovery session the group were left to experience the spa and the extensive 8 experience rooms before finishing with a careers talk and Q&A session.

Having sparked a mass interest throughout the group in developing careers in spa-therapy, many of the students are now eagerly driven to do their work experience in a specialist spa environment.

The first in at Bannatyne Health Spa’s new VIP Lounge

Exclusive debut experience with afternoon cream tea in the newly added VIP lounge ‘Premium & Private Spa’ with all day access! This was a really great way to showcase the benefits of being a top Spa Therapist.

Students had full access to the Elemis product counter where they really impressed tutors with their knowledge about what products suited different skin types. A popular brand used in 5 star spa’s the Elemis range is only used alongside an extensive training programme by professional therapists. This really impressed the students knowing that this could be a route they could take on completion of their course in the near future.

The students had a tour of the spa and had full access to the spa areas including a steam room, sauna, pool and Jacuzzi.

Later on in the day they were able to go into the relaxation rooms and use the water beds, which were a big hit, leading on to training with our very own floatation tank here at the on-site college spa The Zone.

It is always great to build strong employer links when studying a practical course like hair, beauty or makeup artistry which can lead to work experience opportunities and can also lead you to your specific career pathway after studying.
