Entry Requirements:

Be at least 16 years of age.

Be in paid employment for a minimum of 30 hours a week in a plumbing environment.

GCSE grades A-D in a communication subject, Maths and either a Science or technical-based subject.

Start Date: On-going   Attendance: Part time   Duration: 2 years

Framework Overview

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes which are designed around the need of both the Apprentice and their employer.

The Apprentice is equipped with theoretical knowledge combined with practical hands-on experience which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Next Steps

Register on an appropriate Certification Scheme.

Progress to learning and assessment programmes that lead to relevant Level 3.

Qualifications and/or Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Domestic Plumbing and Heating. Progress in their career with further training into such job roles as Technician, Designer, Estimator, Project Manager, Site/Workshop Supervisor/Manager, Chartered Engineer, Sales Engineer or Commercial Manager.

Fees

There are no costs to the Apprentice aged between 16 and 23 to complete an Apprenticeship.

The training for Apprentices that are aged between 16 and 18 is fully funded; for Apprentices that are aged 19 - 23 at the start of the course, a one-off training contribution fee is required from their employer (who may be eligible for a grant).
