    Course Overview

This course is based at our Ipswich campus.

If you are a creative person that wants to set up your own business or practice as a freelancer or entrepreneur, then this course is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to develop your career as a professional, with a creative flair to support your success.

This qualification is suitable for students who don’t yet want to progress to university or apprenticeship straight after sixth form or L3, but wish to turn their ideas and creativity into a commercial venture.

You can use this qualification to support yourself whilst starting up, or explore your entrepreneurial skills and creativity whist helping with the business side of things (setting up yourself as a freelancer or LLP/company, how to network as an entrepreneur, how to write a business plan to pitch to 'dragons' or crowd funding site etc.) You will also have a chance to share your journey and ideas at the world-renowned D&AD Festival and Awards.

All students who have not achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.

    Course Highlights

If you wish to start your own creative business or become a freelancer, this qualification will support you to think about how you set yourself up as an independent consultant or practitioner. Whilst the focus of the programme is creativity, this can apply to any business proposal or area where the ability to work independently and be solution-focused is fundamental to the success and sustainability of your career plan.

Taught by successful media professionals and entrepreneurs, the course will offer an exciting insight into how businesses now need to be technology savvy, sustainable and creatively problem solving in order to flourish and survive.

You may also be able to put your skills to use outside the College, by being part of a student company that supports different live projects.

Core Skills Covered: Communication | IT Skills | Analytical Skills | Project Management | Research | Teamwork

    Next Steps
